Cancel took a call

Cancellation needed a quick call. Rep was polite, explained renewal timing, and closed the plan while sending a confirmation email. No runaround, just took five minutes.

Useful, with caveats

Data helped me feel more confident texting back, but a few entries were dated. Useful tool, if you remember it compiles from many sources.

Helpful for a quick check

Eventually I found an old friend’s address by email lookup. The teaser screens before pay are a little much, but registration was easy and results were in one place. I verified with another site to be safe.

Got basics fast

Reverse phone lookup pulled a likely name and two past addresses fast. Paywall for deeper stuff, which I expected. The dashboard is simple. Good for quick context before messaging someone back.

Refund handled politely

Meanwhile, support replied within a day when I asked to cancel auto renew. Clear note, processed the request, and no runaround. Wish self cancel was simpler.

lookups that save time

Typed in a random phone number and Spokeo surfaced likely owner, city, and links in seconds. Signing up took a minute, and navigation felt clean with clear tabs for phone, email, and address. There’s some upsell nudging, but finding matches from tiny clues was super fast for me.

helpful with opt-out

Support replied the same day, politely walked me through the removal steps, and confirmed by email. Clear instructions, minor wait, issue resolved.

There is no clear words that show customers paying .95 one

There is no clear words that show customers paying .95 one time are actually signing up for a subscription. Nothing is obvious when you check out. Ironically, a website that says it helps people stay away from scams feels like a scam itself.

Bad experience.

Bad experience. They apologize many times but never seem to change. They continue the same pattern over and over again. Is this grounds for a class action lawsuit? Worthless service in my opinion, but their approach feels like a scam by charging a monthly fee of 29,95USD without consent. I paid via PayPal, and they promised to refund me, but only returned 22,46USD, keeping 7,50 for themselves. If that's not a scam, I don’t know what is. After the hastle of another complaint with PayPal, I finally got the rest back. Maybe they don't improve because many people don't notice these charges, which seem like a scam to me. Bad.

I wasn't planning to write a review

I wasn't planning to write a review, but after seeing some of these, I had to. Some folks say they're tricked and charged, but Spokeo is clear about it being a TRIAL OFFER. Don’t let these negative reviews mislead you. This is a solid site that offers a lot of info. It's YOUR job to end your trial and cancel your subscription…just like any other free trial. Nothing is concealed. If people got charged, it’s their mistake. They either missed the details or forgot to end their trial. It’s that easy.

I've been with Spokeo since '09 as a $29 subscriber.

I've been with Spokeo since '09 as a $29 subscriber. Spokeo provides useful info, but I needed more recently, so I paid an extra $19. However, it didn't add anything. I asked for a refund with the $29 plan and was initially refused. I had to argue with Spokeo until they finally refunded me.

I don't have an opinion about the

I don't have an opinion about the service itself, but I guess it's fine. If I had to look, I'd use this service. However, I don't remember signing up for it and requested a full refund. It took a lot of effort, and the fact that I was enrolled in a subscription at all gets three stars from me. The person I talked to was nice and professional, but I had to keep asking and bring up the dispute. I'm completely happy with the outcome. Thanks. Spokeo should send everyone an email and text the day before to remind them that their subscription will renew the next day.

Fast and precise reply--did not

Fast and precise reply--did not charge for services I didn't ask for--unusual for this kind of services--really great!! Thanks for managing a delicate situation with care!!!!

I got a report for 1.99€. Nice report, all good. Didn't realize I got a subscription for 29.95€ too. Contacted support, quick response. Explained, got full refund as I didn't use subscription, just saw the report. Happy, recommend Spokeo :)
