I have to admit, it was a bit tricky figuring out how to set up the app on my phone. But now, I always have my wonderful AI German teacher, "Ursula", with me, whether it's day or night. I can go over a lesson again and again until I really understand it. Ursula is one of a kind and just amazing!

It feels like you’re led to believe that all the features

It feels like you’re led to believe that all the features you discuss during the presentation are included, but after selecting your plan, they start charging extra for everything and each one is priced separately. This would have made it really costly. Since I said no to all the 'extras', I’m not even sure what’s actually included in my plan anymore. I don’t like being hit with these kinds of surprises...they should be more clear from the start. Now, I’m starting this new personal journey with a bad feeling. I really hope my experience gets better from here.

It is really good, especially at first when

It is really good, especially at first when you're a bit nervous about making errors. It doesn't replace the need to speak to an actual person, but for me, it works really well. I don't have to stick to a strict schedule and can stop and start whenever I like. I highly recomend this app.

Great!!

At first, I wasn't sure about it because my first language, Korean, isn't available, but now that I’m learning German through English, I think it’s a really good app. I believe it will be helpful in my studies later on. I am a bit unhappy with the payment system though. The options are all over the place, and I find myself unsure when paying for single items. But that’s just my own view. It’s a good app overall. It would be nice to take inspiration from the interface of other great apps.

Not for the advanced speaker

I live in France for 4 years now. I tried Makesyoufluent to make more progress on my French. It is a disaster. Maybe if you don't know any French at all it can work. But for advanced speakers it is really worthless. The excersises were full of flaws... things that French people would never use... I use Lingvist now, much better !

It teaches Italian through immersion. Instead of forcing grammar rules and verb endings into your mind, the app shows you words and phrases until they stick in your memory. It might not work well for those who want to understand the structure, but it surrounds you with the language and offers feedback to help you slowly get better.

It was a great experience using MakesYouFluent

It was a great experience using MakesYouFluent, and I enjoyed focusing on things I like instead of forcing my self to read about boring stuff like sports or politics. When I don’t know a word, I just ask, and the reply is always clear with enough context, so it’s easier to understand and learn. A very good method for learning a new language! I totally recomend it and will keep using it!

It's a scam.

I cancelled my subscription within a few hours because the interface was so bad. I didn't get a refund. No way you can contact anyone, nobody answering emails or anything, and a year later I've been charged the fee again!

So far quite engaging. I was just hoping for a more developed tool on the AI side, as the app guides us with a chat and not by an active speaking/listening experience like shown in the advertisments…

What can I say.. I’ve picked up more new languages in three months with Makes you Fluent than I managed in 10 years of trying on my own! Now, I’m really excited about going to Europe this Summer and talking to people in their own langauge!!

First of all, I don’t like being asked to leave a review just a day after using the app. It also seems like this app only provides the basic features and nothing more. After buying a plan, you’re asked multiple times to pay extra for features that should already come with the price. I haven’t used the app enough to give a full review, but I was already let down by the AI chat feature. It doesn’t seem to work like it was shown in the ads.

I haven’t been using the program for too long

I haven’t been using the program for too long, but so far I enjoy making my own sentences and getting feedback. I’m still at the beginner level, but I feel it might be a bit hard for complete beginners. Luckily, I already know some French and have a fair amount of vocabulary. However, I haven't come across any ways to practice speaking or listening to conversations. Maybe I just haven't discovered that feature yet?

I've been trying to cancel and get a response to my emails for 6 days now. Not at all as promised. Had to open bank dispute.

My wife registered on the site to test the application and used my credit card. She hated the experience and asked to cancel immediately, but they still charged my card. I had to ask the bank to block my card to avoid further charges. I contacted the company by e-mail and was refused a refund

I like how the color coding shows which words might be improved. The option to practice a sentence multiple times is helpful for getting better results. I also value being able to change the speed of the speaking voice, which helps before moving to a more normal speed for listening.

Horrible Customer Service

I subscribed and then changed my mind a few hours later. THEY ARE KEEPING THE MONEY !!! I CANT UNSUBSCRIBE. Looks like there is no customer service focus here, just Grab the money. Horrible Company.

A great Platform

This is a great platform, to learn new languages, using the AI tutors and provided resources on the app, has been a breeze learning the new languages.

The ability to adjust the speed of the speaker was really helpful for me. As I got more comfortable with the words, I could speed things up to match regular conversation. This feature made it a lot easier for me to learn! Thanks a lot!

The choice of native speakers is also good, and it's great to be able to practice with someone who doesn't hold back. Getting instant corrections while speaking is crucial for me. I’m very content!

Overall, I think the company is heading in the right direction, but there's still room for some improvement. Positive points: - I’m happy that the cancellation process went smoothly and without any problems. - Some of the features, like the pronunciation check and chatting with famous figures, are quite creative and enjoyable. Negative points: - The "play voice" function often stops working after just a few messages, which makes the chat less useful. - The feedback sometimes didn’t match what I said. A few times I intentionally made errors just to see the response and was told my Spanish was flawless with no corrections needed! - The "describe a picture" exercise could be better if it included more realistic photos of everyday life instead of all the abstract images.

Not worth the money, same as using free chatGPT. Not even a real app, but a webapp that works sloppy. They don't refund no matter what. Customer service doesn't reply/takes ages.

2 minutes ‚discussion’ available per day…! Poor material…Customised programm? Not possible. The exercises provided may be found or created by Chat GPT for free. Hard to find any info. It’s waste of money and huge frustration snd disappointment. Recommend not to purchase, it’s scam😢The info given on the page do not align with what is available

I've used MakesYouFluent a few times since I signed up, and I enjoy it so far. I've been using Duolingo for 5 years, and while it's taught me a lot, the lessons can get repetitive. The AI conversations are a great feature, as they help me focus on creating sentences and using proper grammar instead of just memorizing.
