I purchased Biberk professional liability insurance. After 3 years with the company and zero claims, they came back and said I had to back pay them 5x as much as the original premiums I paid. It is not clear at all when purchasing the insurance, but their rates are variable and they can increase them at any time (even after the coverage period is over and the policy has been canceled). This policy structure is hidden and vaguely described in the documents they make you sign. It is an unfair and underhanded practice. It's like buying a hamburger for $15, and then after you eat it the resterarunt comes back and says, actually we want $75 for that burger.
